The historic center of Verona is undoubtedly a place rich in characteristic sites that are worth visiting at any time of the year.
The ideal starting point is the central Piazza Bra.
Arena di Verona
Here you can admire the ancient walls of the Arena di Verona, which hosts one of Europe’s most famous opera festivals every year, and the Portoni della Bra.
The city’s many other monuments can be reached by a pleasant walk that will leave you speechless at every turn. Perhaps starting from Corso Porta Nuova, Verona’s shopping street, which connects Piazza Bra to Piazza Erbe. You can also visit many other famous monuments, such as…
Castelvecchio
The city’s most impressive monument, the Roman Theater of Verona, where theatrical performances are still held during the summer season, is located just a few minutes’ walk from the Arena. However, a visit to Verona cannot be considered complete without taking a look at…
Juliet’s House…
and its famous balcony, made famous throughout the world by the tragic love story of Romeo and Juliet.
Afterwards, you can taste the typical wines of the area, such as Valpolicella Classico, Ripasso, and Amarone, in one of the many wineries offering tours upon request.
Fun fact: the name VALPOLICELLA derives from the ancient Latin Val Poli Cella, meaning the valley (Val) where there were, and still are, many (poli) cellars (cella), hence the name cantina.
